After the onset of Apartheid in South Africa, white poverty was fought against to ensure that this “the better race” as so thought, would stand tall and be in the best position possible.
However, with the days of Apartheid being far behind us, and with past wrongs being made right, many of the white community are now suffering in white informal settlements because they are unable to keep their heads above the water in the new South Africa.
It was thus the charity organization of the Helping Hand that took it upon themselves to offer assistance to these white informal settlements of people who are searching for a way out of their struggles.

The Ruth Mailbag Group is a charity that serves the Ladysmith region of the Kwazulu Natal, and that provides gifts at Christmas at no cost to:
1. Premature and newborn babies at the state hospital (blankets and clothes)
2. Children in the paediatric wards at the state hospital (toys)
3. Elderly at the home for the frail aged (face cloths, sponges and toiletries)
4. Animal Anti Cruelty League (blankets and cat or dog food) Donations of handmade, new and / or clean good quality second hand items are welcome.
