Hypnosis is being used more and more often by therapists to access the unconscious minds of individuals who need emotional or mental help. It accesses the areas of the brain attached to memories that we have developed over a period of time. A negative memory can produce negative results in our lives causing us to react unsuitably in certain situations. Hypnotherapy changes the way in which perceive these memories from negative to positive through offering alternative suggestions to the memory. This process is however no a quick fix and it will take a number of sessions depending on how susceptible a person is to hypnosis and how deep set the memory is.
